Who it’s for

Built for people who carry more than one card

“Which card do I use here?”

Open the app before you tap. Your cards get ranked for the merchant in front of you, so the best one is never a guess.

“What did that actually cost me?”

Live rates for every major currency, plus a separate field for the amount your bank really posted — so exchange-rate spread stops hiding from you.

“Is this app selling my spending?”

No. Your spending lives on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. Even optional Bank Sync only passes transactions through to your phone — our server never stores them. No analytics, no ads, and the entire source code is public.

Features

Everything the rewards math needs

Smart card recommender

Cards ranked by what this specific merchant earns you, using the rules you already entered.

A rules engine without limits

Tiered rates, category stacking, merchant multipliers, region-specific rules, spend caps. Set it once; every transaction is costed automatically.

AI receipt & statement parsing

Photograph a receipt or import a statement. Apple’s on-device model pulls out the merchant, amount, line items and billing cycle — and matches the last four digits to the right card.

Card template library

Prefilled templates for HSBC, American Express, Chase, Bank of America, ICBC Asia, CNCBI and more. Add a card with its reward structure in one tap.

Multi-currency, real rates

Every major currency with live exchange rates. Built for people who spend across borders and get billed in something else.

Apple Shortcuts

Log a transaction by voice, or straight from a payment screenshot, without ever opening the app.

Rewards trend analysis

Most trackers only chart what you spent. This one charts what you got back — monthly, per card, over twelve months.

Points expiry alerts

Tracks the points balance on each card and warns you before anything is about to expire.

Bank Sync (optional)

Connect your US bank and credit card accounts through Plaid, and new transactions arrive on their own, already costed against your card rules. An optional subscription.

Privacy by design

A finance app built not to leak your spending

Most budgeting apps ask you to hand your financial history to a server you can’t see. Cashback Counter keeps it on your iPhone. The one feature that needs a server, Bank Sync, is opt-in, and even then your transactions only pass through on their way to you. You don’t have to take our word for it: the code is public.

Audit the source on GitHub
  • On-device by default. Receipt parsing and every cashback calculation run on your iPhone via Apple’s Foundation Models. Cloud parsing exists as an opt-in setting and is switched off until you turn it on — and when you do, it goes through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, which is end-to-end encrypted and readable by neither Apple nor us. You can also plug in an AI provider of your own, with your own API key; requests then go straight from your phone to that provider.
  • No account needed. Everything except Bank Sync works without signing up. Sync between your devices is CloudKit — your own private iCloud database — and you can turn it off in Settings.
  • Bank Sync is opt-in. If you subscribe, you sign in with Apple and connect your bank through Plaid, so you never type bank passwords into our app. Our server passes transactions straight to your iPhone without storing them, and deleting your account in the app disconnects everything.
  • No analytics, no ads, no tracking SDKs. Nobody is measuring what you buy. The app’s only third-party packages are a ZIP library and Plaid’s connection SDK for Bank Sync.
  • Everything else it requests. Outside Bank Sync and any AI service you switch on yourself, the app only fetches public currency exchange rates, the shared card-template list on GitHub, and card artwork images. None of them carry your transactions, balances or personal data.

FAQ

Questions worth asking

Does it work offline?

Yes. Receipt parsing, rule matching and every cashback calculation run on your device. Apart from Bank Sync, which naturally needs a connection, the app goes online only to refresh currency exchange rates, pull the shared card-template list and download card artwork — none of which involve your data.

Is anything sent to the cloud?

Only if you ask for it. Bank Sync, an optional subscription, connects to your bank through Plaid and our server; your transactions pass through to your iPhone and are not stored on the server. A setting called Cloud AI parsing is off by default; turning it on routes receipt parsing through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, which is end-to-end encrypted so neither Apple nor we can read it. Separately, iCloud sync is on by default and stores data in your own private CloudKit database — you can disable it in Settings. The privacy policy lists everything in detail.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Everything works without signing up. The one exception is Bank Sync: connecting a bank requires Sign in with Apple, so we can tell which bank connections are yours. If you want your data on more than one device, it syncs through your own private iCloud — not through us.

What does it cost?

Cashback Counter is free and has no ads. Bank Sync is an optional auto-renewing subscription: the app shows the price for your region before you subscribe, and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.

Which iPhones are supported?

iOS 26 or later. The AI receipt parsing runs on Apple’s on-device Foundation Models, so it needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence; everything else works on any iPhone running iOS 26.

Can I get my data out again?

Yes. Transactions and cards export to CSV at any time. It is your data and it is already on your device.

What languages does it speak?

English, 简体中文, 繁體中文.

Stop leaving cashback on the counter

Free, ad-free, and it never phones home. iOS 26.0 or later.
