Your MacBook’s notch, put to work.

Mac Dynamic Island turns the space around the notch into a live island: what’s playing, with synced lyrics; how your coding agents are getting on; everything you’ve copied; and a shelf for files in transit.

Version 1.0.0 · 2.5 MB · macOS 26 or later ·Apple silicon and Intel

Features

What the notch should have been doing all along

Now playing, with synced lyrics

Track, artwork, playback controls and time-synced lyrics for whatever shows in Control Center — Apple Music, Spotify, browser audio and video players — right beside the notch.

Your coding agents, at a glance

Claude Code, Codex and ZCode report what they are doing and how far along they are. When Claude asks a question or wants to run a tool, the island opens on it — answer, allow or deny without hunting for the terminal.

Clipboard history

Text, links, code and images you copy are kept — the last 50 by default, for as long as you choose — and one click pastes them back into the front app. Passwords from your password manager are never recorded.

A shelf for files in transit

Drag files onto the notch to park them while you move between windows, then drag them out where they belong.

Opens on what matters

Point at the island and it opens on whatever needs you: your agents while one is working or waiting, the music while something plays, otherwise the tab you used last.

At home on every screen

It follows your mouse across displays, opens wider on large external monitors, and steps aside while a video plays in full screen.

Coding agents

Answer your agents from the notch

Connect an agent in Settings → Agents and the island adds one command hook to each event it supports, next to any hooks you already have. The config file is backed up the first time, and disconnecting removes only the island’s entries.

The hook forwards each event to the app over a Unix socket that only your user account can open. It prints nothing and always exits cleanly, so your agent carries on normally when the island isn’t running. Claude Code shows its own prompt at the same time and takes whichever answer arrives first.

AgentConfig fileNotes
Claude Code~/.claude/settings.jsonHooks run in the background so they never slow Claude down. Questions and permission requests can be answered from the island.
Codex~/.codex/hooks.jsonRun /hooks in Codex once after connecting to trust the new hook. Its update_plan shows as the task list.
ZCode~/.zcode/cli/config.jsonZCode has no session-end event, so its sessions leave the list when ZCode quits or after 12 quiet hours.
Privacy

Everything stays on your Mac

No account, no analytics, no ads and no third-party SDKs. Your clipboard, your shelf and your agents’ activity never leave the machine.

Read the privacy policy
  • The only outbound requests are song lookups. To find lyrics and missing artwork, the app sends a song’s title and artist to LRCLIB, a community-run NetEase Cloud Music API, and Apple’s iTunes Search. You can switch lyrics off.
  • Passwords stay out of the history. Anything your password manager marks as private is never recorded.
  • Agent events travel over a local socket. Only your user account can open it, and the app sends nothing it receives anywhere else.
